VISIT OF JOHN REINHARD & PETER FROST OF NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

The discoverer of the Juanita mummy and a National Geographic Society researcher, John Reinhard, entertained us with his presence at the works of Koricancha. Accompanied by Peter Frost, they visited all of the works within the sector of the Church. Reinhard remarked to the director of the project, Anselm Pi Rambla, that what surprised him the most was that the Dominican Order granted excavation permits in the Koricancha, an area so intangible that it had not been discovered for many years. These permits were granted by the religious authorities.

LECTURE AT THE CULTURE COMMISSION OF THE CONGRESS OF THE REPUBLIC OF PERU

On Friday, March 8, 2003, a conference was held in the Raúl Porras Barrenechea Chamber of the Congress of the Republic of Peru on 'THE RESCUE OF THE SOLAR CITADEL OF SAQSAYWAMAN AND ITS UNDERGROUND GALLERIES'. This was an archaeological scientific project of cultural interest for Peru, whose program was designed by Anselm Pi Rambla, a researcher and specialist in pre-Columbian cultures.

We would like to inform you that, based on recent research and scientific data obtained in SAQSAYWAMAN and in the TEMPLE OF THE SUN OF THE INCAS (Convent of Santo Domingo - Koricancha), important structures and galleries have been discovered inside. For many years, researchers have provided data on the existence of these galleries, which would connect the Temple of the Sun with Sacsayhuamán, located 1.2 kilometers from the Koricancha complex, crossing the entire city of Cusco. It is also possible that part of the Inca gold was hidden inside these galleries, as it could have been stored in that underground network during the time of the conquest.
